Are you stuck trying to figure out what the appropriate arrangement and colour palette is to send for a particular occasion? Here are our recommendations...
At Little Belle Flowers we have 3 main arrangement options, Bouquets, Hat Boxes & Vase Arrangements.
With Bouquets you are getting more flowers for your buck, as we don't need to allow any of the budget for the Vase or Hat Box container. However, Bouquets only arrive in a small water source for travel and will need to be transferred into a vase. Hat Boxes and Vase arrangements are an easy-care option as they stay in the container and only need to be topped up with water.
When it comes to what size arrangement for what occasion, you can't really go too wrong!
Big extravagant arrangements for special birthdays, anniversaries or a beautiful display at your event. Smaller arrangements as a little thank you or I appreciate you.
It is best to consider the recipient when choosing your arrangement, are they likely to own a vase?
Do they have space for a large arrangement? If you are sending flowers to Tauranga Hospital or a retirement room, a smaller sized Hat Box or Vase would probably suit the small space best.
We would also recommend easy care options for bereavement/sympathy arrangements, as many people send their condolences at the same time, and most people don't own a lot of vases.
On the subject of bereavement flowers, let's talk colour. Traditionally sympathy flowers are White/Green/Neutral, which is understandably more suited to a sudden passing, or very tragic circumstances and you would like to gently send your condolences.
However, there is no right or wrong thing to send, depending on the persons and situation a bright colour palette could be fitting if the situation is more an end-of-life celebration, or they were a big bright personality. Colour can also be a great way to bring some joy at a tough time.
Throughout our experience a soft pastel colour palette has always been a very popular option and sits nicely in the middle.
For most other occasions colour palette just comes down to personal preference and what the recipient will like, if unsure, I usually think of what kind of home interior or fashion choices does the person make? bold and bright? modern and neutral or pretty and feminine? This would probably give a good indication of what colour florals would be a good choice.
Otherwise here is a brief guide, birthdays are usually a cheerful celebration suitable for bright colours, arrangements for a romantic partner or anniversaries would suit red and pinks to symbolize love, Pastels could suit friendship or thank you arrangements.
Florist Choice is always a great option if you are unsure on the colour palette, we will use the best of what we have available and our design expertise to put together a bespoke arrangement for you. A good idea to leave a note at checkout of what occasion the flowers are for to help our florist make design choices.
The wonderful thing about flowers is that they say so much without saying anything, you can send them from near or afar, everyone loves them and will appreciate them no matter the size, style or colour palette, so don't over think it, there are no wrong choices!
Life has so many special moments, big, small, happy and sad. Sending your loved one flowers and kind words lets them know you are thinking of them, and it's always the thought that counts.
At Little Belle Flowers gift giving is our love language and we know how to do it right!
You are in safe hands.
This photo is an example of a beautiful Basket Arrangement that was sent out as bereavement flowers for a Tauranga funeral service, it was put on display at the church and then the family was able to take it home. Arranged in a basket makes it an easy-care option, as the family only need to top it up with water. The colour palette was traditional Whites with some soft feminine pastels to represent the life of a lovely woman.
